Premiers' Reading Challenge

Since the challenge began 15 years ago, California Gully Primary School students have proudly taken part.

Regular reading from an early age is vital for success at school and has lifelong benefits. The challenge encourages children to read more and promotes a love of reading.

We also know that children will be more willing to read if they see adults reading so spend some time reading with your children - and be seen by your children reading.

More information on the Premiers' Reading Challenge can be found here.

In 2018 we saw an outstanding outcome with 115 children completing and receiving certificates to acknowledge an amazing effort with the ‘Premiers' Reading Challenge’. Thank you to all children, families and staff for the great support to have so many finish the challenge. This also means that reading was occurring regularly both at home and school!

We have already had a few children complete the Premiers' Reading Challnge for 2019.
